GALLUP, NM – The family of veteran US Army PFC Joyce Vivian Nez is humbly requesting a funeral escort on July 24, 2020 Friday from Gallup, NM to Chinle Veterans Cemetery.

DESTINATION: Chinle Veterans Cemetery
Gravesite service will be at 1:00pm. Services will be conducted in accordance with CDC and Navajo Nation Covid-19 guidelines to protect all friends and family, thank you for understanding and cooperating.
US Army PFC Joyce Vivian Nez was 83 years old, born April 6, 1937. She passed away in Phoenix, Az on July 3, 2020. She enlisted into the US Army on April 5, 1957 and served two and half years, discharged September 1959. She was an outgoing asset to the community of Chinle, a school board member, a process server. While at Chinle Chapter, she helped get Chinle PD established.
She was of the Towering House People born for Bitter Water. She was a mother of two, 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
