BURNSIDE, AZ – Surprise birthday ride to USMC veteran, Lawrence Lano’s party on July 6, 2019.

“The look of surprise on brother Lawrence Lano face when we rolled up, the words that he spoke, the tears that were shed, the happiness in his voice and the laughter that was shared was priceless and all very worth it. Thank you Christina Arthur for inviting us to share our appreciation for our brother. Thank you to all the riders whose positivity, prayers, support and encouragement helped to to put a smile on his face. Bernda Tsinnijinnie and Clyde, Vtx Cruzn, Doug Skeets, Earl Willie, Geri Hongeva Camarillo, Thompson Thomas, Andy Valdez, Ray Curley, Huey Lano, Zak Valteau, Eugene Jarvison Lori Lee Chischilly Al and thanks to Tommy for the escort getting us there safe. Like Lawrence said the rain brought some good blessings, and prayers for all riders” stated Bobby Martin, NHHR President.

As riders gathered at the Chevron Window Rock for staging, the clouds gave a nice shade. A couple of cars stopped by to say hello including Lori Lee and Al traveling back to Oklahoma, also comedian Chizz Bah who had performance at Navajo Nation Museum the night before called ‘Rez Night Live.’

Kick stand up at 11:00am and the engines began as the motorcycles lined up behind police escort Tommy Kirk from Apache County Sheriff’s Office. The ride from Window Rock to Burnside was nice and cloudy. The smell of fresh air, smell of sage, pine trees and even some food cooking while we passed the flea market at Ganado.

As we pulled up to Lawrence Lano’s house, he was so surprised. His expression and that smile as we parked our bikes. Navajo Hopi Honor Riders came from Page, Flagstaff, Gallup, Crownpoint, Tohatchi, Crystal and Window Rock area.

Our brother and veteran Lawrence told stories about his dedication to being a Raiders fan, we enjoyed his stories as we laughed together and ate a variety of foods. It was a good day to be with one another.

Lawrence provided a heartfelt prayer and expressed his appreciation to the creator for all the blessings in his life and prayed for the safety of all honor riders. To hear his prayer was well worth the miles we rode.

Today was a good day to show honor and appreciation to a Marine veteran for his birthday…. Ahéhee’
