TSE BONITO, NM – The family of US Navy PO3 Doranci Poyer is requesting a funeral escort on Saturday August 22, 2020 from Tse Bonito, NM to Ft. Defiance Veterans Cemetery.
STAGING: 9:00am Silver Creek Mortuary, Tse Bonito, NM

DESTINATION: Ft. Defiance Veterans Cemetery
ROUTE: West on Hwy 264, turn north on Rt.12 (5.5miles)
Gravesite services will be conducted starting at 10am. Immediate family only. Thereafter, visitors may pay their respect immediately following services will be conducted in accordance with CDC and Navajo Nation Covid-19 guidelines to protect friends and family. US Navy PO3 Doranci Poyer is an alumni of Navajo Pine High School and University of New Mexico. He earned his GI Bill to pay for his college education. He attained his Bachelor’s and Masters in Education while employed with Gallup McKinley County School. Poyer dedicated his life to teaching and coaching our youth. As a coach, he will always be remembered by many athletes he helped. As an educator, he was very effective and impacted many students. He leaves behind 5 children and 4 grandchildren. His parents were the late Jackson Sr. and Sadie Poyer.
He was a dedicated military man, discharged honorably and continued to be of service in his community thereafter. He served 4 years from 1990 – 1994, his rank E4, served during the Desert Storm and Persian Gulf War, he was stationed on the USS Dixon and USS Barber.
