Funeral escort for US Army SPC4 Ernest Steven Reed

TUBA CITY, AZ – The family of US Army SPC4 Ernest Steven Reed is humbly requesting a funeral escort on Saturday October 30, 2021.

DESTINATION: 11:00am Page Cemetery, 575 S. Lake Powell Blvd, Page, Az
Ernest S. Reed, US Army Specialist 4 was assigned to 180th Aviation Company as an Aviation Repairman, specifically repairing and maintaining Army helicopters. He was an especially big fan of the Chinooks and took great pride in having worked on and flying them.
After his military service, for a short period, he was a Wildlife Resource Officer for the Navajo Nation Game and Fish Department before starting his 38 year career at Navajo Generating Station and Salt River Project Corporation as a Railroad Specialist, Track Equipment Operator and Mechanic. Upon his retirement, he was recognized most for his safe-mindfulness and skillful operation of heavy-equipment, cranes and the famous coal train.
In his leisure he will be remembered most for having been an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, scouting for hunts, camping, fishing and being in the elements.
Our family is comforted by the thought of our Patriarch reuniting with our Matriarch, his best friend and wife, on “happy hunting grounds”.
