Died February 16, 2010 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom
Age 23, of Rock Point, Ariz.; assigned to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; died Feb. 16 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
He was Hashk’aa Hadzohó (Yucca Fruit Strung in a Line Clan), born for Tó’ Áhání (Near to Water Clan). His maternal grandfather was Bit’ahnii (Folded Arms Clan) and his paternal grandfather is Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan).

The remains of Lance Cpl. Alejandro Yazzie, 23, arrived Thursday at Dover Air Force Base, Del.

In addition to his wife, son and mother, Yazzie is survived by his father, Johnson Yazzie; grandmother, Minnie Yazzie; stepfather, Peter Begay; three younger brothers, Ferlando Lorin Bitsui, Rodello Holyan and Chance Holyan; and younger sister, Rayona Holyan.
