GALLUP, NM – The family of our beloved National Hero is requesting for the Navajo Hopi Honor Riders to conduct a funeral escort for Navajo Code Talker Senator John Pinto, we will be honored to fulfill this request.

Senator Pinto was born in Lupton, Az. and lived in Gallup, NM. He was a Navajo Code Talker, a part of the unbreakable code to send military messages in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He served in the New Mexico State senate over 40 years, he was 94 years old.

Destination: New Mexico State Capital, Santa Fe, NM (this is all volunteer, gas and meals on your own)
Route details: Gallup, NM to Shiprock,NM (30-minute stop in Shiprock) to Farmington/Bloomfield to Cuba to Santa Fe, NM (Exit 284 from I-25 N.) Old Pecos Trail

2:00pm – The Senator will lay-in-state at the New Mexico State Capital for a few hours.

TBD – Return trip from Santa Fe to Gallup, NM (I-25 South to I-40 West).

Route going over to Santa Fe, NM on 5/29/19. On the way back from Santa Fe, we will travel back on I-40 westbound.
