5/17 Funeral escort for Navajo Code Talker Fleming Begaye Sr

TSE BONITO, NM -Attention honor riders, the family of Navajo Code Talker PFC Fleming Begaye Sr, USMC is humbly requesting for a funeral escort for our Hero on May 17, 2019.

STAGING LOCATION: Silver Creek Mortuary, Tse Bonito, NM
STAGING TIME: 0600 (DST)
KSU: 0615 (DST)
DESINATION: Potters House, Chinle, AZ.
ROUTE DETAILS: West on HWY 264 and north on US RTE 191 (67miles)
Viewing at 8am and funeral will begin at 10am. Subsequent to services detail will proceed to 10 miles north of Chinle, Az for interment.

PFC Fleming Begaye Sr was born in 1921 in the community of Red Valley near the Arizona and New Mexico border. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1943 – 1945, wounded he come home to Arizona. He fought in the battles of Tarawa and Tinian during the World War II. He is a recipient of a Purple Heart.

He married his wife Helen in 1945 and together they raised three children in Chinle, Az, there he worked locally at a trading post until it closed in 1988.
