Funeral Escort for U.S.M.C Corporal Roy O. Hawthorne, Navajo Code Talker, Pacific Theater WWII, Korean War Veteran

The family of U.S.M.C Corporal Roy O. Hawthorne, Navajo Code Talker is requesting for the Navajo Hopi Honor Riders with invitation to all riding communities for a funeral escort.
Hawthorne’s funeral service will be held on Friday, April. 27, 2018 at Tse Si Ani Baptist Church in Lupton AZ. Viewing will be held from 5pm-7pm on Thursday evening April 26th. At Rollies Mortuary in Gallup. Our condolences go out to the family of Navajo Code Talker Roy O. Hawthorne. In his service to the U.S., he protected the great Navajo Nation, We thank Mr. Hawthorne for his bravery and courage as a Navajo Code Talker. We say Semper Fi, Marine. Roy is a veteran of two wars, WWII and Korea. He entered the U.S. Marines in 1943 and spent the next two years island hopping thru the Pacific. He went on to serve in Korea from 1950-53 earning a Purple Heart for wounds sustained in Combat.

Staging: 0800 @ Rollies Mortuary 401 E Nizhoni Blvd, Gallup, NM 87301
KSU: 8:45 am to Tse Si Ani Baptist Church. Services will begin at 10:00. Route will be on the frontage road all the way to Lupton. After services are concluded, Mr. Hawthorne will escorted to his final resting place- family plot.
