Funeral Escort for Teddy Draper, Sr.
The family has requested for the Navajo Hopi Honor Riders with invitation to all surrounding riding communities for a funeral escort, It will be our Great Honor to do so. Honor Riders, your presence during this time will greatly be appreciated. Calling all Honor Riders to help in meeting the families request as we pay our final respects to our beloved Hero. Navajo Code Talker Teddy Draper Sr., the last survivor of the raising of the American flag on Mount Suribachi. Mr. Draper was born in Canyon Del Muerto, Arizona he fought in the battle of Iwo Jima. He received a Purple Heart and the U.S. Congressional Silver Medal in 2001. Draper died December 12 at the age of 96 at Veterans Administration hospice in Prescott, Arizona. Tse Bonito Mortuary are in charge of funeral arrangements.

Funeral home to Church- 0715 at Tse Bonito Mortuary, KSU, 0730. Honor Escort will be to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Chinle Arizona.
Viewing: 0900, Services are to begin at 1000, Followed by Mass..
Church to Burial- After services are conducted, Mr..Draper will be escorted to his final resting place. Burial will be at the family plot in Del Muerto, Arizona, followed by a reception in the Catholic Hall.
