He played football\, wrestling\, student council\, band and graduated from Coconino Community College.\n\n\nHe clans are Biih bitoodnii (Deer Springs Clan) born for Nat’oh dine’e Tachii’nii (Tobacco- Red Running into the Water)\, paternal grandfather ‘Ashiihi (Salt Clan) and maternal grandfather is Kiyaa’aanii (Towering House).\n\n\nHe enjoyed riding his motorcycle\, he would ride to the canyon for cattle round up. Branding cattle\, butchering a cow or sheep\, he loved to work on vehicles\, he also enjoyed going camping\, he owned his own transport company\, Homecare. He always had a project\, interested in real estate. A few times he flipped properties in the early 2000. He took care of his mom from 2007 to 2022. He had some struggles but always very strong. He passed away Feb. 7\, 2024\, in Hunters Point. \nLeonard graduated from Manzano High School in Albuquerque and served in the U.S. Army for 13 years and 4 months. He was an Afghanistan Veteran who was injured by RoadSide Bomb in 2007 and a Purple Heart Recipient. Leonard served in 82nd Airborne and also the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He was a foodie who enjoyed cooking\, fishing\, biking\, and spending time with his children. \nLeonard is survived by his sons\, Alejandro Day and Michael Day; daughters\, Esperanza Day and Isabella Day; parents\, Antoinette and Leonard Day Sr.; brother\, Dillon Day; and sisters\, Rosemary Cook\, Rachelle Roberts\, Patricia Day\, Maria Day\, and Melinda Day Wheeler. \nLeonard is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents\, Dillon and Rose Platero; paternal grandparents\, Alice Williams and Charlie Day; and three uncles and two aunts.
