He was Dziłtł’ahnii ( Montain Cove Clan)\, born for Folded Arms Clan\, his maternal grandfather are Tábąąhá (Edge Waters Clan) and paternal grandfather Tsenabahił nii (Sleep Rock People). He graduated from Wingate High school\, entered Marines in 1981 honorably discharged in 1984\, he was very respectful of military veterans as well as those who are serving\, he always had love for the Rodeo circuit as well and riding saddle bronc himself. He loved his children and his family\, he left memories his family will always remember and keep dear to their hearts. He was a man of many trades; he was a silversmith and also a union carpenter. He will always be loved and remembered by his children\, family\, relatives and friends. He was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War era. His last assignment was with the 501st Ordnance Company USAREUR Unit. He is survived by his wife Beverly Hardy of 52 years and 3 sons\, Joseph\, Frank Jr. and Hamilton and 6 daughters\, Sharon\, Marie\, Esmerelda\, Cassandra\, Cheryl and Mary\, thirty-three grandkids and twenty-two great grandkids\, four brothers and one sister\, many nieces and nephews and countless extended family. \nFrank is from the Tower House Clan (Kinyaa’aanii) and born for Water’s Edge Clan (Tabaahii)\, his maternal grandfather is of the Red-running-into-the-water Clan (Tachiinii) and paternal grandfather is Bitter Water Clan (Todachinii). \nFrank was an Army Veteran served for 2 years active duty and 4 years ready reserve. Frank participated in the Vietnam War as a soldier in the United States Army. When Frank left the military\, He left with the rank of Specialist (E-4) he worked as a firefighter later transitioning to automotive mechanic. He was a member of Ganado Veterans Group. He also showed his patriotism at Gourd Dances. \nFrank worked at a mechanic for Navajo Engineering Authority (NECA)\, Apache County and Chevron Mining (CMI). He retired from CMI. He was raised in Tohatchi\, NM. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps\, serving in the Vietnam War as a member of the 3rd Marine Division. \nHe was always active and engaged in the community in both sporting and civic events. He participated in the Senior Olympics in Alabama\, Nevada\, and Albuquerque\, NM competing in track and field events\, as well as shuffleboard. He enjoyed hunting and fishing\, watching high school basketball games\, and traveling. He was an active participant in Gourd dancing at many Powwows across the US including Gathering of Nations Pow Wow. If there was a Powwow or Song & Dance in his community including local Navajo fairs\, you were sure to see JR there along with his trusted red jeep.
