DESCRIPTION:Tse Bonito\, NM – The family of US Marine LCpl Gilbert Charley\, Sr. is humbly requesting a funeral escort on Tuesday\, April 5\, 2022. \n\n\n\nSTAGING: 7:45am Silver Creek Mortuary\, Tse Bonito\, NM\nKSU: 8:00am\nDESTINATION: Greasewood Springs Cemetery\, Greasewood\, AZ.\nROUTE: Hwy 264 from Tse Bonito\, NM to Navajo Route 15 to Greasewood Springs Cemetery\, Greasewood Springs\, Az. \n\n\n\nUSMC LCpl Gilbert Charley\, Sr.\, was a very kind hearted\, disciplined son\, father\, nephew\, uncle\, great grandfather\, nali\, spouse\, but most of all\, he was a one of kind loving compassionate grandpa and dad. He made every effort to always be involved with the community\, the students\, and his grandkids as a mentor\, encouraging and guiding them everyday reminding them life is tough\, but not to let the trials keep them down; to continue to move forward and grow in every way\, in all aspects of education\, sports\, and as individuals; to continue to be the best you are and to be the best you can be for yourselves and our family. He was well known within Greasewood Springs Community to include the surrounding communities through his involvement with the children he taught\, mentored and watched over them as they grew along side his own children. He was employed with the Greasewood Springs Community School for over 30 years in both the Residential Hall and Transportation Department. He also sponsored many fundraising activities for the students at the School with basketball\, softball\, pool tournaments and Halloween carnivals. \n\n\n\nGilbert Charley\, Sr.\, is survived by his significant other Laura Keyonnie\, his children; sons Stacey Smith\, Gilroy Charley\, Gilbert Charley Jr.\, and daughter Kimberly Charley-Clarke. \n\n\n\nOn behalf of the Navajo Hopi Honor Riders\, we send our condolences and prayers to the family of USMC LCpl Gilbert Charley Sr. Rest in peace. \n\n\n\nContact: Lindsay Charley (daughter in-law)\nEmail: linnyg86@gmail.com
