DESCRIPTION:Havasu Memorial Walkway will host event for Navajo Code Talkers \nThe Havasu Freedom Foundation is working to recognize the sacrifices and contributions of Marine Corps Navajo Code Talkers in an upcoming ceremony at the Havasu Memorial Walkway. \nThe Freedom Foundation is working with the Marine Corps League and Lake Havasu City to recognize the work of the Code Talkers\, who played a vital role in World Wars I and II. \nMembers of several native tribes\, including Hopi\, Comanche\, Choctaw\, Creek\, Chippewa\, Meskwaki and Lakota\, used their native languages to develop a military code. \nThe recognition and unveiling ceremony of the newest section of the walkway at Bridgewater Channel under the London Bridge will be held at 9 a.m.\, Saturday\, June 8. \nread full story
